First Baptist Church of Anchorage began in September 1943. It was began by an Army Chaplain  and 15 soldiers and 2 civilians. The church has endured 2 fires, an earthquake, 2 lawsuits, recessions and more recently, a pandemic. The church continues with the vision to love God and love others and follow the Great Commission to Go into all the world and preach the gospel.
